The last open space of Maasvlakte 1 is now occupied. September 7, 2008, ECT opened a new container terminal. The Euromax can process 2.3 million small or 1.15 million large containers per year.
This is 25% of all containers that is going in and out of the Rotterdam harbor. The terminal is connected with six rail tracks and starts in the beginning of the Betuwe route.
